With temperatures reaching 95 degrees at the Agoura Hills softball tournament last weekend the Goleta Thunder girl’s softball team proved how well they could perform in the heat, winning their third tournament in a row, outscoring their opponents 55-11.
Defensively, pitchers Madi Pickett and Gabby Gandall kept the runners off the bases. Pickett dominated the mound with a no-hitter earlier in the tournament and had a total of fourteen strikeouts.
Not only did Pickett perform well defensively she also greatly helped the team offensively scoring seven runs and bringing in seven RBIs.
Anya Schmitz led the team offensively going 8 for 14 in the tournament.
Thunder is now 14-0 to start their season and they play June 8th and 9th in the Bring On The Heat tournament in San Diego.
