Local NBA player Julyan Stone returns to his roots on Saturday for the grand re-opening of the basketball court at the Goleta Boys and Girls Club.
The festivities begin at 9 a.m. and run until 1 p.m. There will be a skills challenge, a Q&A session with Stone and a barbecue.
Stone honed his basketball skills at the Boys and Girls Club before going on to star at Dos Pueblos High and the University of Texas-El Paso, where he is the school’s all-time assist leader.
The 6-6 Stone signed a free-agent contract with the Denver Nuggets and has been with the club for two years.
