Dos Pueblos Little League 9/10-Year-Old All-Star pitchers Cole Philip
and Thomas Mock threw a combined no hitter to lead their team to a
10-0 victory over Ojai Valley Little League during a pool-play game on
Tuesday at Girsh Park in Goleta. Trevor Craig and Conner Gleissner
each had two of DPLL’s seven hits to lead the offense.
DPLL beat Foothill on Sunday 18-0 and remains undefeated in Pool A,
hosted by DPLL at Girsh.
Philip and Mock struck out 10 Ojai batters in the game that was
shortened to four innings due to the mercy rule.
DPLL scored two runs in the first inning behind singles by Dylan
Borgeson, Craig and Gleissner. In the second, the hosts plated three
more thanks to a single by Justin Orozco and a triple by Craig. In the
third, DPLL blew the game open with five runs on hits by Gleissner and
Philip.
On Sunday, DPLL pitchers Borgeson, Gleissner and Ty Montgomery held
Foothill to one hit.
DPLL returns to action Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. against
Carpinteria Valley at Girsh.
