The SBVC has a Financial Aid Program, which provides assistance to players in need.

?It?s completely financial based,? said longtime coach and club administrator KC Collins. ?It doesn?t matter what type of player you are or what team you are on.?

The club is celebrating its 20th year as a nonprofit group.

Players on the club?s travel teams and in the non-travel Blenders League are eligible for the financial aid.

The cost of playing club volleyball can run up to $3800 for a season. Collins says the SBVC works hard to provide some financial support for families, so their kids can play in a well-structured, organized program.

?We?ve had a number of girls who received financial aid in the Blenders League, have gone all the way through (the club?s various age-group travel teams) and have gone on to get scholarships for college,? she said.

The financial aid program is funded through corporate sponsorships, private donations, grants and various fundraising activities, Collins noted.

Central Coast Dining is sponsoring a fundraiser with Holdren?s Grill Dinner Package. (Click here for details) Buy a discounted dinner for two at the Goleta restaurant and 10 percent of the proceeds go to the SBVC Financial Aid Fund. Package must be purchased before June 30.

?We have a lot of entities that step up and help us,? said Collins.
