Goleta Valley South’s 12-year-old all-star team beat Fillmore 11-1 on Sunday in Santa Paula.
But the score did not truly show just how impressive the game was for GV. Andrew Aragon pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed only one hit. While a 1-hitter is impressive by itself, what was more amazing is that all 14 outs he recorded were strikeouts.
Mason Boelter finished off Goleta Valley’s dominating pitching performance by striking out 3 of the 4 batters he got out.
GV’s offense was an even attack with 9 out of 10 players getting a hit with Tommy Schaeffer leading the way with a home run.
GV continues all-star play Tuesday night in Santa Paula versus Montalvo.
