Dos Pueblos Little League’s Junior All-Stars got a solid starting pitching performance from Matt Nichols on Tuesday night in a 5-0 victory over visiting Carpinteria.
Nichols went four innings, allowing one hit with four strikeouts. Will Goodwin pitched the final three innings allowing one base runner on a base hit. DP’s defense played excellently behind their pitchers’ 2-hitter, not making an error in the game. Catcher Jed Donelan did a great job behind the dish throwing out 1 of 2 potential base stealers.
DP had 7 hits in the game. Wyatt Boyle went 1 for 1 with a single and two walks, 1 stolen base and scored twice. Matt Nichols helped his cause by going 1 for 1, two walks, scoring once and driving in one run. DJ Sharpe went 1 for 3 with an RBI and scored once.
DPLL plays its final pool play game on Sunday at GVSLL Sunday at 1 pm.
