The Dos Pueblos Little League 9/10-year old All-Stars opened District 63 tournament action with a
dominating 18-0 win over Foothill Little League on Sunday at Girsh Park.
Dos Pueblos pitchers Dylan Borgeson, Conner Gleissner and Ty Montgomery held Foothill to one hit. Trevor Craig, Justin Orozco Josh Brennan and Jackson Greaney each had two hits leading the offense. The DPLL pitchers struck out seven and walked three in a game that was shortened to four innings due to the mercy rule. Foothill walked six batters and struck out none.
DPLL scored six runs in the first inning on singles by Craig, Cole Philip, Greaney and Thomas Mock. In the second, the host team plated six more thanks to singles by Montgomery, Brennan and Craig. In the third, DPLL scored two runs on singles by Orozco and Greaney. Triples by Gleissner and Brennan in the fourth helped push across four more runs in the fourth.
Foothill’s Bucko Mills ripped a double in the first inning for his team’s lone hit.
DPLL returns to action on Tuesday, June 18, at 5 p.m. at Girsh Park against Ojai Valley.
