Coast 2 Coast Collection now offers customers a unique congregation of autographed sports memorabilia from superstar athletes such as Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Lionel Messi, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Sandy Koufax, Lebron James, Joe Montana, Roger Federer and Wayne Gretzky.
Dozens of potential Father’s Day gifts are on display this week at Coast to Coast Collection in the La Arcada Courtyard on State Street.
Owners Bob and Holly Murphy hosted a private gathering at their gallery located in the La Arcada Courtyard on Friday evening to commemorate the new addition to their gift collection.
Coast 2 Coast Collection opened about a year and a half ago with the idea of primarily selling vintage jewelry, silverware, dishware, glassware, and bridal registry items.
After noticing that the majority of their products were aimed toward women, Mr. Murphy decided that he wanted to bring in products that were appealing to gentlemen.
?I?d see the women come into our store with their husbands or boyfriends and some of these men looked bored and uninterested. As a result of this, I was inspired with the idea of selling sports memorabilia for the guys, ? said Murphy.
With Father’s Day on the calendar next Sunday, the sports memorabilia items are on full display.
For baseball fans, these items include a rare signed Babe Ruth bat (for display only), a Sandy Koufax ball, and a signed Koufax 1959 Dodgers World Series Champion jersey. The Koufax ball is not only a baseball that Koufax signed, but he also wrote his most memorable statistics on it.
Another noted item (sold on Friday!!) is a USC football helmet signed by all seven of the Trojan players who have won the Heisman Trophy. The signatures include notorious winners O.J. Simpson and Reggie Bush.
A truly extraordinary item is the NFL Hall of Fame jacket signed by over fifty Hall of Famers including Gale Sayers, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, and many more NFL greats.
Call yourself a Chicago Bears fans? Then you?ll probably want the football signed by all three legendary Bears linebackers. This includes Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary, and the recently retired Brian Urlacher.

?We want to have a real variety so that we address all price ranges. Over time, a goal of mine would be to have the capability for a customer to come in and request a specific item of sports memorabilia that I could locate,? added Murphy.
