SBCC placed eighth in the men’s 4 x 400 relay on Saturday as the Community College State Track & Field Championships came to a close at the College of San Mateo.
Tristan Lake, James Herb, Geoff Brown and Cliff Lekas clocked 3:20.32. Sequoias won the race in 3:11.25.
Riverside City College cruised to its fifth title in the last six years with 151 points, beating Mt. San Antonio by 91. Cerritos won the women’s title with 91 points.
On Friday, SBCC’s Kathryn Rucker took seventh in the women’s high jump. The freshman from Sacramento cleared 1.57 meters (5-1¾) to earn two points for the Vaqueros.
Kodie Hebert, a freshman from Oregon, was eighth in the women’s javelin with a personal best of 36.93 meters (121-2). That’s the No. 4 mark in school history.
Aaron Mateski placed 10th in the men’s javelin at 54.15m (177-7½).
