Laguna Blanca’s boys tennis team came from behind to beat Westminster in Wednesday’s CIF Division-4 match. With the set score tied up at 9-9, the Owls advanced thanks to a 71-64 advantage in games.
Westminster led 4-2 after the first round but the Owls were able to rally.
Benji Sorensen and Eddie Conk teamed to sweep three doubles sets for Laguna, which won six of nine total. Ben Furukawa won 2-of-3 sets, including a big win over Westminster’s No. 1 in the second round.
Laguna Blanca will face Santa Ynez in Friday’s second round.
