Dos Pueblos’ Emma Redick has been selected as a Santa Barbara Running High School Runner of the Month.
Redick, a senior captain, has had a stellar track & field season leading the Chargers to a team title at the County Championships and claimed three individual victories at the Channel League Championships.
At the Channel League Championships, Redick swept the 100, 200, and 400-meter races to qualify for CIF in three events.
Redick’s leadership has been a blessing for first-year coach Chris Mollkoy.
“She leads by example in practice, just encouraging the other girls and kids on the team. She’s just a positive force. I love having her. I’m going to miss her next year,” Mollkoy said.
“Especially for me as a first-year coach at DP, she’s been instrumental in just talking to me and helping me out,” Mollkoy continued. “I’m very thankful to have her as a senior helping out. It’s crucial to the freshman and sophomores to have somebody like her
Redick, who is the sports editor for the school paper The Charger Account, recently chose UC Davis as her college destination.
