Bishop Diego senior Caleb Richey and UCSB commit Eric Childress have been placed on All-State teams for Boys Basketball. Cal High Sports released the All-State Boys Basketball teams on Monday.

Richey made the Second Team in Division 5 while Childress, a senior guard for Leuzinger in Lawndale, made the Second Team for Division 3.

The Cardinals senior averaged 22.8 points per game. His high-point game was 29 points and he scored more than 22 points in 18 games. He shot 42 percent from the field, 36 percent from behind the 3-point line and 74 percent from the free-throw line. He also led Bishop Diego in defensive rebounds (6.5), assists (3.4) and steals (2.7).

?It feels great to be recognized as an all-state player, to see the hard work I have put in paying off means a lot,? Richey said.

The senior, who sat out his junior year because of CIF transfer rules, has not yet decided on where he will play in college.

Childress committed to UCSB in the spring signing period. Childress averaged 16.1 ppg, 4.1 apg, 4.1 rpg, and 3.5 spg while leading the Olympians to a 23-9 record.
