Santa Barbara High’s boys volleyball team made quick work of visiting San Luis Obispo in Tuesday’s first-round match of the CIF Division-2 Playoffs. The third-seeded Dons defeated the Tigers 21-9, 21-19, 21-13.
“Our goal was to get it done in an hour and we pretty much did that,” said Dons head coach Chad Arneson.
The Dons will face either La Sierra or Canyon Anaheim in Thursday’s second round. If Canyon, Santa Barbara would travel while a coin-flip situation would decide the location of a Santa Barbara-La Sierra matchup.
Ryan Worley’s 11 kills were a game-high on Tuesday night. Joe Rafferty added nine kills and Tristan Fauntleroy had eight. Carl Mendoza collected eight digs and Hart Pitcher handed out 35 assists.
Santa Barbara’s overall record improves to 18-9.
