Westlake pulled away from Dos Pueblos in the second round of play and defeated the Chargers 11-7 in a CIF Division 1 boys tennis playoff match on Wednesday.
The teams were tied 3-3 after the first round of play before the Warriors took control of the match.
The DP doubles team of Mason Casady-Joshua Wang won all three of its sets, losing only four games. They finish the season with a 42-5 record. Patrick Corpuz beat Westlake’s No. 1 player and four-star recruit Jeremy Model and finished 2-1 on the day.
“I was proud of how much our team has improved over the season and how tough and focussed they played today,” DP coach Liz Frech said. “In addition, exceptional sportsmanship prevailed.”
Dos Pueblos finishes the season at 12-7. Westlake is 18-1.
