Alhambra held off Bishop Diego on Friday 4-2 in a CIF Division-4 first-round playoff game.
The Moors took a 3-0 lead after three innings but the Cardinals rallied with two runs in the top of the sixth inning. Aidan Williams led off the inning with a single and scored on a double by Scott Mandrell. Mandrell scored two batters later on a sacrifice fly by Nolan Tooley.
The Cardinals failed to push any more runs across and Alhambra added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.
Alhambra advances to Tuesday’s second round.
