Carpinteria boys tennis coach Charles Bryant saw the passion that had been missing in his players, as the Warriors went out a beat Nordhoff 15-3 in a Tri-Valley League match on Friday.
“The boys played their most complete, and in my opinion, the best match they have played in two years,” said Bryant. “The boys came out focused and ready from the start and were just dominant throughout.”
David Harms played solid at No. 1 singles and won two of his three sets. Ben Murray pulled off a comeback win against Nordhoff’s No. 1 player and went 2-0 on the day. At No. 3, Jonathon Cleek went 3-0.
In doubles, the No. 3 team of Collin Nathanson and Rickey Zermeno went 3-0.
“We had been playing lethargically and without passion but all of that changed today as we came out firing,” said Bryant.
Carpinteria is now 5-11 overall and 2-4 in the TVL.
