SBCC rallied to tie its WSC men’s tennis finale 4-4 with two doubles wins at Glendale on Tuesday, then lost a heartbreaking 5-4 decision on a tiebreaker.
Logan Liddell, the Vaqueros’ top player from Santa Barbara High, returned from injury to win points in singles and doubles for the Vaqueros (8-5, 5-3). Liddell teamed with Fabian Lundberg to win the No. 1 doubles 8-4 and Daniel Barrington-Eduardo Baccini took the No. 2 set, 8-4.
Glendale (11-5, 5-3) tied the No. 3 doubles 8-8, then pulled out a 9-7 win in the tiebreaker to forge a second-place tie in conference with SBCC.
The Vaqueros will compete in the WSC Individual Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Ventura.
