Dos Pueblos knocked off Cate’s boys tennis team on Wednesday 16-2.
The Chargers swept the first two rounds to clinch the non-league win. By the end of the match, Dos Pueblos had claimed eight of nine sets in both doubles and singles.
Dos Pueblos was perfect at the top as No. 1 singles player Caleb Franzen and No. 1 doubles Mason Casady/Patrick Corpuz swept three sets. No. 2 singles player Joshua Wang was most successful, winning three sets with a combined games score of 18-1.
Cate earned its wins in the final frame from Abhay Singh in singles and Parker Gribb with Alex Erling in doubles. Gribb and Erling weren’t that far from winning all three of their sets as their losses came 4-6 and 6-7.
Dos Pueblos improves to 6-2 overall while Cate falls to 4-5.
