Cate gave unbeaten Pasadena Poly a battle before falling short, 10-8, in a non-league boys tennis match on Saturday at Cate.
“Pasadena Poly arrived on the Mesa with a 6-0 record and a lot of confidence, but the Rams played solid tennis right through the final sets of the afternoon,” Cate coach Bob Bonning said. “This was one of the Rams’ best matches this season.”
The doubles teams of Alex Erling-Parker Gribb and Thys Northup-Jason Xiao each won two sets for the Rams (4-6).
