Dos Pueblos swimmers won three individual titles at the Mt. SAC Spring High School Meet of Champions on Saturday in Walnut.
Alex Valente, Walker Bell and Janelle Nguyen captured event victories in the meet that drew 46 schools.
Valente was dominating in winning the boys 100 butterfly in 48.86 while setting a new meet record. He finished nearly two seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Valente was also part of DP’s medley relay team – with Bell, Blake Parrish and Grant Schroeder – that set a Channel League and school record while finishing second overall with a time of 1:35.60.
Bell and Nguyen won the distance events. Bell took the boys 500 freestyle in 4:38.35, while Nguyen captured the girls 500 free in 4:54.97. She also grabbed third place in the 200 individual medley in 2:04.47. Bell was sixth in boys 200 IM (1:57.62).
Valente finished second in the 100 backstroke (50.72) to Crescenta Valley’s Thai Harison (50.48).
The Dos Pueblos boys 400 free relay (3:14.15) also placed second to CV (3:13.47). The Chargers girls took third in the medley relay (1:53.54).
In other individual events, Parrish was fourth in the 100 breast (58.03) and Maelyn Adornetto was fourth in the girls 100 breast (1:07.44); Courtney Nuttall was fifth in the girls 100 back (1:01.54) and Madison Faulkner was 10th; Grant Schroeder came in fifth in the 50 free (22.45) and Reagan Eickert was ninth in the 200 free (1:59.10).
San Marcos got a fourth in the girls 200 relay in 1:43.35 and Royal Dasha Depew (1:56.11) took eighth in the girls 200 free.
San Marcos placed sixth in the combine team standings and its girls finished fourth. The Dos Pueblos boys took 3rd overall in the varsity team competition.
