Twenty hits turned into 10 runs for Dos Pueblos’ softball team on Thursday as the Chargers played their first game in two weeks and triumphed 10-2 over Fillmore.
Dos Pueblos scored three runs in the first and three more in the fifth inning. Up 6-0, Fillmore scored its run in the bottom half of the sixth before Dos Pueblos tacked on four more in the seventh.
Chloe Madill and Monica Salas were both 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Madill also drove in three runs. Catcher Haley Peterson was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
Peterson caught sophomore Veronika Gulvin, who struck out 15 batters in seven innings.
Ady Willett added three hits while Alana Evans and Jade Sinskul each had two. JV call-up Lauren Marmo played three innings at shortstop and recorded a hit.
Dos Pueblos, 10-1-1 on the season, travels to Santa Barbara on Friday for a Channel League game.
