SBCC took an early 3-0 lead on Saturday but Oxnard rallied for a 4-3 baseball win in a WSC North game at Oxnard.
It was the third straight loss by the Vaqueros (17-16, 9-8), who scored all three runs in the third inning on an RBI single by Tony Simon and a two-run single by Tyler Sharp. Oxnard (16-16, 7-10) is 3-0 against the Vaqueros this year.
Cuesta (12-5) topped Ventura 3-2 to earn at least a tie for the conference crown.
The Condors scored single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh to tie it at 3. They won it in the bottom of the 10th on an infield error, another error on a bunt and an RBI single by Mark Fitzgerald.
“We just didn’t play catch,” said coach Jeff Walker. “We got a little out of character after we went ahead.”
The Vaqueros were held to four hits and committed three errors, leading to two unearned runs.
SBCC finishes the regular season with three games next week. The Vaqueros will host Oxnard (Tuesday) and L.A. Pierce (Thursday) before traveling to Pierce on Friday. All three start at 2:30 p.m.
