With the regular season nearing its end, Laguna Blanca boys volleyball coach Dillan Bennett is doing some fine tuning to prepare his team for the CIF playoffs.
Bennett mixed up his lineup in Wednesday’s 25-9, 25-23, 25-16 Condor League win over visiting Dunn.
“Overall, we were just trying to find ways to get better,” Bennett said. “Whether that was getting some guys to play in spots they haven’t played before, trying out some possible lineups for CIF, we are just trying to finish the season with as many different possible options going into CIF.”
Bennett praised the play of Spenser Wyatt, who was playing his first varsity match as the starting setter.
“He showed that he’s going to help this program for the next few years in that setting spot,” Bennett said. “I was also very happy with Pierce O’Donnell’s contributions tonight in his first start of the season. He has been a nice role player for us in the back row, and last night he did a great job as our libero.”
JT Aubrey had nine kills and four aces to pace the Owls (12-2, 6-0).
