The boys volleyball teams from Bishop Diego and Carpinteria battled to a five-set decision on Thursday night, with the Cardinals prevailing 23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-27, 15-12.
Three Cardinals finished with double-doubles, led by Will Busch’s 16 kills and 20 digs. Chandler Swift totaled 15 kills and 18 digs while Grant Sexton put up 12 kills and 15 digs.
Luca Jordano collected 10 kills, seven digs, four blocks assists and three aces.
“Our senior setter, Troy Skinner, was solid all night long,” reported Cardinals head coach Jason Donnelly. “He is making great decisions, as shown by our kill leaders, and is a constant, steady presence, particularly when things get tough for us.”
