Carpinteria bats produced five extra-base hits in Friday’s 12-0 Frontier League win over Villanova.
The Warriors totaled 14 hits in all and the defense was errorless in the shutout. Marcus Hutchinson earned the win for pitching five innings. Duncan Gordon finished with two scoreless innings.
Five Warriors recorded multi-hit games. David Olvera had two hits – one a triple – and drove home four runs. Derrick Moore and Duncan added two hits and two runs each, while Anthony Rodriguez and Jonah Spach both collected runs scored and RBI.
The result improves Carpinteria to 7-4 in league play. Fillmore is next.
