Zach Ell homered in Cate’s 10-2 victory over Village Christian on Tuesday.
The catcher was 2-for-4 and scored three times while driving home three more.
Humza Khurshid started for Cate and struck out seven batters in 4 1/3 innings. Justin Lucchesi and Chris Oh finished the job for the Rams, now the No. 4 ranked team in Division 7.
Carlos Fairbanks (2-4, 3 runs), Ryan Baird (3-4, 1 run), and Lucchesi (2-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI) also had good days at the plate.
Cate returns to Condor League play on Saturday against Ojai Valley School.
