Phil Bickford was in solid form on Wednesday as the Oaks Christian pitcher struck out 11 Cardinals in a 4-1 Tri-Valley League win for the Lions over Bishop Diego.
Bickford pitched a complete game one-hitter. Bishop Diego’s lone run, which came in the bottom of the fifth inning, was unearned.
Aidan Williams was 1-for-3 with a run scored for Bishop Diego.
While the Cardinals fell to 2-1 in league play, it was the TVL opener for the Lions.
The same two teams play again on Friday at Oaks Christian.
