Dos Pueblos’ Alex Valente
Dos Pueblos swimmer Alex Valente and SBCC tennis player Bruna Magalhaes were recognized as Athletic Round Table Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Valente is coming off a record-breaking weekend at the Mt. SAC Meet of Champions. After setting the meet record in the 100 butterfly during Friday’s prelims, Valente came back and lowered his time to 48.86 in Saturday’s finals.
The sophomore placed second in the 100 backstroke and was a member of the medley relay team that set a Channel League record.
Magalhaes won the singles crown at the WSC Tournament. The freshman from Brazil qualified for the SoCal Regional in both singles and doubles.
