Cate School’s Joshua Yaro and Geoffrey Acheampong have been named to the CIF Southern Section’s Division 6 All-CIF First Team for boys soccer.
For Yaro, who has comitted to play at Georgetown next year, it’s the third straight year the central defender has been a First-Team selection. The senior captain was a shut-down defender who also scored 16 goals and added 10 assists.
Acheampong, a sophomore, totaled 15 goals and 12 assists in 20 games.
Teammates Leighton Brillo-Sonnino and Matthew Firestone made the Division 6 Second Team. Freshman Joel Serugo was also recognized as a Third-Team selection.
Cate finished its season with a 15-3-2 record. The Rams reached the Southern Section’s semifinals where they fell to Carter 3-2.
