Westmont’s women’s basketball team has reached the NAIA National Tournament final after a 59-49 victory over Freed-Hardeman on Monday night in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The Warriors were able to hand Freed-Hardeman just its second loss of the season.
Tugce Canitez and Esther Lee led the Warriors with 19 points each.
Westmont (29-4) advances to Tuesday’s national championship game where they will face the Lady Flames of Lee (Tenn.) who come into the game with a record of 34-2. Both Lee and Westmont will be making their first appearance in the title game. Lee defeated Cumberland (Tenn.) by a score of 43-41 in the other semifinal.
The championship game can be seen on CBS Sports Network at 3:30 p.m. PDT. (Cox channel 284 and 1284, Direct TV channel 613 and Dish Network channel 158).
