Santa Babrara High’s 4×100 relay team captured that event at Wednesday’s dual meet at Ventura.
The Cougars boys won 91-36 and the girls 116-11.
“Ventura’s really deep, they don’t have any weak events, so you have to get your points where you can,” said Dons coach Olivia Perdices.
Efren Sanchez, Gavin Koehn, Toby Sy and Brent Walker combined to win the 4×100 in 45.06.
Koehn also won the 100 meter sprint in 11.52.
Walker too was a double-winner, taking the high jump at 5’10”, and recorded a second in the long jump and 400 meters.
In the 800, Gustavo Aobello and Tanner Mjedle claimed the top two spots.
It’s the first of three Channel League dual meets for Santa Barbara in March.
