Caroline Vance and Jill Fisher finished second in the triple jump and 200 meters, respectively, and four other San Marcos athletes earned third-place finishes in their events at the Don Green Invitational Track and Field Meet at Moorpark High on Saturday.
Vance went 33-10 to finish behind Niema Poindexter of Dos Pueblos, who set a meet record at 35-06.25.
Third-place finishers for the girls were Fisher in the 100 (12.93), Kaitlyn Kuehn in the 1600 (5:24.39), Anastasia Kunz in the 300 hurdles (50.72) and Charlotte Garratt in the high jump (5-0). The Royals’ 4×400 relay team (4:254.30) also took third.
On the boys side, Michael Orosco-Moore placed third in the shot put at 46-10. He also took fifth in the discus with a throw of 138-10.
Also for the boys, Joe Prince took fifth in the long jump (19-7) and seventh in the triple jump (39-3.50). Sam Strong was sixth in the long jump (19-6.75).
In other girls results, Olivia Jones placed seventh in the 100 (13.25), Kuehn was sixth in the 800 (2:31.25) and Jewel Fisher was seventh (2:33.54), Claudia Riveroll got fourth in the 100 hurdles (18.21) and Vance took seventh in the long jump (15-5.50).
