Stamatia Scarvelis and the boys distance medley relay team set meet records for Dos Pueblos at the Ventura Invitational track and field meet on Saturday at Ventura High.
Scarvelis threw 46-6 to win the shot put in a meet and stadium record. She also won the discus with a mark of 142-6. Her shot put erased the previous stadium mark of 42-1/4, which held since 1981. The old meet record was 40-10.
The Chargers’ DMR team of Max Davis (1200 meters), John Greening (400), John Linehan (800) and Bryan Fernandez (1600) blew away the field, clocking a time of 10:39.59. The previous mark was 10:39.62 set by DP in in 2011. Fernandez, who was a member of quarter that set the earlier record, ran the last 200 meters of Saturday’s race in 26 seconds.
In other events, Emma Redick won the girls 200 in 25.71 and took third in the 100 in 12.91. Tate Cutcliffe finished second in the boys pole vault with a personal record of 13-6.
