Valencia was two sets better than San Marcos on Wednesday as the Vikings topped the Royals 10-8 in a non-league match.
Valencia gained a two-set lead after the first round and held on for its second win of the season.
Petar Jivkov swept three singles set for San Marcos to improve his individual record to 11-1 on the season.
San Marcos was slightly better in singles but Valencia won six-of-nine sets in doubles, led by sweeps from its No. 1 and No. 2 teams.
Wednesday’s match was the first of three straight for San Marcos (4-2). The Royals face San Luis Obispo on Thursday and Dos Pueblos on Friday.
