Petar Jivkov and Luca Ferrari dominated their singles sets on Tuesday, claiming six points for San Marcos’ boys tennis team in a 12-6 non-league win at West Ranch.
Jivkov and Ferrari had a combined games score of 36-6 in six sets as the Royals won their fourth match in five tries this season.
“Luca’s serve has steadily improved and today it was the best yet. He dictated points on his serve and was aggressive early on,” explained San Marcos head coach Jarrod Bradley.
In doubles, Ramin Parvin and Jake Wheelock won a tiebreaker on their way to three wins.
“Every doubles player of ours today was taller than theirs and they did a good job keeping us off balance by lobbing us when we closed the net and keeping the ball low,” recounted Bradley. “Jake and Ramin persevered today and were very aggressive at the net, and that was the difference in their sets.”
Weather permitting, San Marcos hosts Santa Ynez on Thursday.
