Laguna Blanca’s boys tennis team scored an 11-7 Condor League victory over Cate School on Wednesday to remain undefeated for the season.
The Owls improve to 7-0 overall.
“It’s the first time anyone can remember Laguna beating Cate in boys tennis, so we’re extremely satisfied with our performance today,” reported Laguna Blanca head coach Trevor Thorpe.
The Owls have been especially strong in singles and Wednesday was no different as Laguna Blanca swept all nine sets. For the season, Laguna Blanca’s singles players have won 58 of 63 sets.
Ben Furukawa lost just four games in his three sets and Tristan Prince lost five.
Cate’s Alex Erling and Parker Gribb paired to win three straight sets for the Rams 7-6, 6-0, 6-0. The teams of Jason Xiao/Thys Northup and Brendan Lokre/Michael Netleshiem won two-of-three.
Eddie Conk and Benji Sorensen captured Laguna Blanca’s two doubles points.
Cate is the defending Condor League champion.
