Fabian Lundberg got the fifth and deciding point on Thursday, leading SBCC to a 7-2 WSC men’s tennis victory over Bakersfield at Pershing Park.
Lundberg outlasted Tim Roe 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 in the No. 1 singles match. Marius Moelsgaard, Soufiane El Mhamdi, Daniel Barrington and John Knight also scored singles points for the second-place Vaqueros (8-4, 5-2).
SBCC has won three straight and four of the last five. The Vaqueros are 5-1 at home this year and 10-2 over the last two seasons.
Pedro Franca and Christopher Faenge made a splash in their doubles debut, winning 8-0 at No. 3.
The Vaqueros finish up WSC play on Tuesday, April 2 at Glendale.
