Dos Pueblos’ doubles teams were unstoppable in Friday’s Channel League match at San Marcos. The Chargers secured all nine doubles points on their way to a 12-6 victory over the Royals.

Patrick Corpuz was 1-1 was Dos Pueblos, losing his only set in a 10-8 tiebreaker.

All three starting duos completed a 3-0 day:?Mason Casady/Joshua Wang, Ankush Khemani/Greg Steigerwald and Andrew Tufenkian/Alex Yang.

Casady and Wang are 14-1 together this season.

Dos Pueblos’ strong doubles play neutralized the effects of San Marcos’ top two singles players Petar Jivkov and Luca Ferrari, who combined to go 6-0.

Friday’s match was the Channel League opener for San Marcos (5-3), while Dos Pueblos (5-2) improves to 2-0 in league play. Dos Pueblos finished second in the league standings last season and San Marcos was third.

“All in all, we saw camaraderie between the teams and the coaches. There was a good crowd of support for both teams,” reported Dos Pueblos head coach Liz Frech.
