Cate’s boys tennis team won its second match in a row with a 15-3 non-league decision over Bishop Diego.
The Rams won all nine doubles sets on their way to victory. Alex Erling and Parker Gribb won two sets at No. 1 doubles before giving way to Trey Jackson and Andrew Smith, who won thier set in a tiebreaker 10-8.
The teams of Thys Northup/Jason Xiao and Brendan Lokre/Michael Nettesheim each swept three sets.
Spencer Ekola claimed all three of the Cardinals sets in singles with wins of 6-1, 6-1, 6-0. Overall, Ekola is 22-2 in singles matches this season.
The Cardinals (7-2) host Santa Clara in their next match on April 9.
Cate (2-4) plays again tomorrow at Santa Ynez.
