Dos Pueblos’s girls swim team topped San Marcos 117-69 on Thursday in a Channel League dual meet in the Royals’ pool.
Chargers senior Janelle Nguyen led DP’s effort by having a part in four victories. Nguyen claimed the 200 IM and 500 Freestyle with times of 2:10.12 and 5:06.19. She also anchored the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. All four races were completed in CIF consideration times.
Maelyn Adornetto posted the day’s one Automatic CIF time in the 100 breaststoke at 1:07.14. The junior also earned CIF consideration in the 200 IM.
“The team is swimming well and we are hoping to keep up the training through Spring Break so that we go in to our next meet even stronger,” said Chargers head coach Kevin Kuga.
For San Marcos, Dasha Depew won the 200 free in a time of 1:56.87, and was second in the 500 free at 5:18.22.
Freshman Olivia Smith was second in the 200 IM and she won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.62.
San Marcos won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:42.31 with Maddie Kriz, Depew, Grace Pizzinat and Smith.
“I was pleased with our results and very proud of our kids,” said Royals head coach Chuckie Roth. “We performed very well.”
