A day after pulling out a win in 12 innings, Dos Pueblos and dropped its first game of the season on Thursday, falling at Buena 2-1 in a Channel League softball game.
Sophomore Veronika Gulvin, who pitched all 12 innings in a 1-0 win over Ventura on Wednesday, suffered her first loss. Buena got seven hits off Gulvin.
The Bulldogs (5-2, 2-0) got RBI hits from Evelyn Loyola and Valerie Centeno to beat the Chargers (7-1-1, 1-1), who were unbeaten in their first eight games.
Gulvin drove in Maddy Buie for DP’s run in the first inning.
