Santa Barbara High boys soccer player Jelan Hutton has been placed on the Southern Section’s All-CIF First Team for Division 1.
The Dons senior defender was a team captain and anchored a defense that recorded 17 shutouts. Also a threat in the offensive half, Hutton collected five goals and two assists.
Other Dons receiving All-CIF distinctions were Second Team member Peter Gamboa, another defender who scored four goals with two assists.
“As our center backs and captains they truly were our leaders on and off of the field this year,” said Dons head coach Todd Heil of his two defenders.
Santa Barbara High finished its season with a 21-5-2 record and reached the CIF quarterfinals before falling to eventual champion San Clemente.
