Santa Barbara High’s boys golf team edged Santa Margarita and Stevenson at Spyglass Golf Course on Thursday in a nine-hole match.
The Dons’ team score of 198 bested Stevenson’s 204 and Santa Margarita’s 210.
James Morton recorded an even-par 36 to lead the Dons, who continue traveling North on Friday for the Fr. Joe Barry Masters in Sacramento. Jonathan Collins was right behind at 37. Ryan Stoll carded a 39.
“I’m proud of the way we played and competed today. I can see the team is starting to get better and, hopefully, the team can perform well in the upcoming tournament before the league season begins on Tuesday.”
Santa Margarita was led by Matt Murphy’s 37.
