Santa Barbara High’s boys golf team lowered its score on the second day of the Fr. Joe Barry Master tournament in Sacramento, posting a cumulative 392 to finish 8th of 19 teams.
The Dons totaled 792 for two rounds. Host school Jesuit won with a team score of 741.
Individually, it was Ponderosa High School’s Corey Pereira who won the tournament. Pereira finished at 141, three under par.
Brandon Crane led Santa Barbara over the days with rounds of 74 and 76 for 150. James Morton and Jonathan Collins were both one stroke back at 151. Ryan Stoll and Fabio Rodriguez filled out the Dons’ scorecard.
The Dons return home to open up Channel League competition with a match on Tuesday against San Marcos.
