San Marcos continued its solid play in boys volleyball, beating visiting San Luis Obispo in four sets on Thursday at the Thunderhut. The scores were 20-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-18.
Coach Roger Kuntz started the match with his second unit. “I thought they played really well. They battled really hard,” he said.
Once he put in the starting lineup, the Royals dominated play. “We were right back on track like we were against Valencia on Tuesday,” said Kuntz.
Shane Hauschild had 16 kills to lead the Royals. Baker Johnson added 12 kills and middle Max Wilson contributed four kills and four blocks.
Kuntz also praised the the play of libero Sean Estabrooks.
The Royals (8-3) open against Palisades Charter in Saturday’s Dos Pueblos Invitational.
