Grant Sexton and Chandler Swift provided the firepower for Bishop Diego’s boys volleyball team on Tuesday night in a 25-23, 25-21, 25-23 sweep of Carpinteria.
The result puts the two teams on opposite ends of the Tri-Valley League standings with the Cardinals off to a 2-0 start while the Warriors fall to 0-2.
Sexton tallied a team-high 11 kills and Swift collected 10.
Ben O’Hara was a force for Carpinteria with 10 blocks. He added 10 kills for an unusual double-double. Javier Alverez gave the Warriors seven kills and Jesus Ortega recorded 21 assists.
The Cardinals play Oaks Christian in their next match on Thursday.
The Warriors host Malibu on Thursday.
