Cate School won its baseball opener 13-0 over Newbury Park Adventist on Friday.
The Rams scored six runs in the first inning and seven in the third. The game was called after five innings.
Justin Lucchesi picked up the win by throwing three innings with four strikeouts. Humza Khurshid finished the afternoon off with two scoreless innings.
Ben Swing went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Carlos Fairbanks also knocked in two runs.
Cate (1-0) doesn’t play again until March 20.
