Santa Barbara High’s baseball team won its second straight game on Thursday in a 3-1 decision at San LUis Obispo.
Jeff Paschke, Connor McManigal and Johnny Brontsema combined to limit the Tigers to three hits over seven innings.
Paschke helped his cause with a two-run homer to right-center in the first inning that scored Skyler Sabado. It was the Dons’ first home run in the first four games of the season.
Paschke also struck out five batters on the mound and added another hit at the plate.
Hits were at a premium as both teams combined for seven total.
“It was just a real well played high school game,” said Dons coach George Rempe.
The Dons took a 3-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning before San Luis Obispo scored its one run in the bottom of the seventh.
Santa Barbara (2-1-1) will play Westlake on Saturday as part of the Chatsworth Tournament.
“We’ve just gotten better every game. that’s the nice part about it,” Rempe said.
