Bishop Diego’s Jack Gregson won his fifth game on Tuesday in a 10-3 win for the Cardinals over Nordhoff in the two teams’ Tri-Valley league opener.
The home and away series shifts back to Bishop Diego for a game on Thursday. First pitch is 3:30 p.m.
Gregson pitched a complete game to earn his fifth win of the season. Bishop Diego as a team has six wins. Gregson only got into trouble in a 3-run sixth. But by that time Bishop Diego held a 10-0 lead.
Gregson was 2-for-4 at the plate, as was Nolan Tooley. Aidan Williams blasted a solo home run in the second inning and walked three times.
The Cardinals did most of their damage in a six-run sixth.
