Santa Barbara High had a three-run lead get away in the sixth inning and suffered an 8-6 loss to Sheldon, Ore. in the final pool play of the Coach Bob National Invitational Baseball Tournament in Surprise, Ariz.
The loss drops the Dons into a consolation game on Thursday.
Santa Barbara built a 6-3 lead behind the hitting of Jeff Paschke (2-for-3, 3 RBIs), John Brontsema (2-3, double, RBI), and Connor McManigal (2-4, double, RBI).
A pair of errors with two outs opened the door for Sheldon, which scored five runs in the sixth. Cooper Stiles of the Irish hit a three-run double to give them the lead.
Gabe Grandcolas was the hard-luck loser for Santa Barbara (7-4).
